Kalakriti Cultural & Convention Center
Location: Agra, Uttar Pradesh
Typology: Cultural & Convention Centre
Design Language: Mughal-inspired Architecture
The complex features a vibrant food court and a traditionally decorated auditorium that serves as a cultural centerpiece. A unique highlight of the auditorium is a movable 20 ft x 20 ft marble replica of the Taj Mahal, which dramatically emerges from the center of the stage during a live performance depicting the life of Emperor Shah Jahan.
Reflecting the concept of functional artistry, the architectural design draws inspiration from the Mughal period, incorporating intricate stone inlay work on red sandstone. The structure spans a built-up area of 70,000 sq. ft., thoughtfully developed over a 10-acre site.
